NOW Shuttle carries people to medical appointments, airports and home again. That work means we are trusted with personal, and sometimes health related, information. This page sets out what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
This policy applies to nowshuttle.ca and to the rides we book through it. It is written to meet British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act and Canada’s federal PIPEDA.

When you book a ride or contact us, we collect the details needed to carry out that ride: your name, phone number, email address, pick-up and drop-off addresses, travel dates and times, and anything you tell us about mobility needs, such as whether you use a wheelchair or need a driver to come to the door.
When you browse the site, our host records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the site running and secure.
Some of what you tell us is sensitive. Mobility needs, the clinic you are travelling to, or a note about a condition that affects your ride are treated as confidential. We collect only what a driver or dispatcher genuinely needs in order to carry you safely, we share it only with the people involved in your ride, and we do not use it for marketing.
We use it to quote a fare, schedule and carry out your ride, contact you about that ride, meet our obligations as a licensed carrier, and answer questions you send us. If a healthcare provider, family member or case worker arranged your ride, we may confirm the booking details with them.
We may disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is needed to protect someone’s safety.
We also use analytics and advertising tools, including Google Tag Manager and the Meta pixel, to understand how people find and use the site. These set their own cookies. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as well if you do.
We keep booking and trip records for as long as we need them to run the business and to meet the record-keeping rules that apply to a licensed passenger carrier, and then we securely dispose of them. Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept only as long as they are useful for answering you.
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or withdraw a consent you previously gave. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
We limit access to personal information to the people who need it to do their job, and we use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards to protect it. No system is perfect, so if a breach ever affects you we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
If this policy changes we will post the updated version on this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be brought to your attention.
